Meet the Founder
Daneka Joy
My yoga journey began simply—following a few videos at home, sitting on my mat and exploring movement. What started as curiosity quickly grew into something much deeper: a passion that became not only something I wanted to do, but something I needed. Yoga has shaped my life in meaningful ways, and I felt called to share that experience with others.
I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Muddy Waters in Winona in the spring of 2022, and have been teaching in the Caledonia area ever since. My experience includes leading classes in studios, schools, community spaces, and parks—bringing yoga to people in a variety of accessible and welcoming environments. In May 2025, my partner and I opened our own studio in downtown Caledonia, creating a space rooted in connection, growth, and community.
I truly believe that yoga meets us exactly where we are. It gives us the opportunity to express ourselves, explore what we need in the moment, and find joy through movement and breath—whether that looks like strength, stillness, challenge, or release.
As a teacher, I strive to create meaningful, intentional movement that meets people where they are. Yoga has helped me step out of autopilot, reconnect with myself, and live a more authentic and joyful life. It has shown me when to pause, how to be present, and how to grow—on and off the mat.
Outside of the studio, I am a mother and a special education teacher of eight years. In both roles, I continually draw on the strength, flexibility, and balance that yoga has helped me build—physically and mentally.
I am deeply grateful to be part of this community and for the connections that come with it. My hope is that when you step onto your mat, you feel supported, challenged, and inspired—you might laugh, reflect, grow, or simply breathe.
I look forward to sharing this practice with you.
Leigh
Slow Flow, Yoga Sculpt, VinyasaLeigh lives in Caledonia with her husband, Randy. Her family life is lively with four children (Megan, Andrew, Mason, and Grant) and three grandchildren.
Yoga has become a passion for me since completing my Registered Yoga Teacher - 200 hour certification (RYT-200) with Yoga Alliance in 2014. My love for fitness is rooted in my curiosity about the body, movement, mechanics, anatomy, and physiology. An undergraduate degree in Exercise Science gave me a solid foundation for teaching yoga, and my Masters in Business Administration broadened my perspective even further.
Currently, I work for a software company, where I dive deep into researching sales and use tax laws. It’s quite a leap from teaching yoga, but my enthusiasm for learning makes it a rewarding challenge. I’ve found that exploring new topics (even those far removed from human movement) keeps me engaged and growing in ways I never expected.
When I’m not teaching yoga, working, or at a sporting event, you’ll probably catch me absorbed in a true crime podcast or show, spending time with family and friends, or if I’m really lucky—relaxing waterside somewhere.
I hope to see you on the mat!
Kendra
Pilates Instructor
Kendra, RN-BSN, brings a unique blend of medical expertise and athletic passion to the mat. Her journey started in 2016 where she fell in love with group fitness classes. She quickly realized she wanted to lead classes and gained her Barre certification in 2020. Later, she gained her NASM Personal Training certification and Human Reformer Pilates certification. Currently, she is deepening her practice by working towards her 200-hour Yoga certification and Life Coach certification. Kendra’s classes are known for being low-impact, high-energy with a focus on the music to keep you motivated. Outside of the studio, she is a dog mom to Scout and Summit, a coffee shop enthusiast, and a traveler at heart. You will often find her on the river with her fiance or exploring somewhere new!
Sarah
Chair Yoga, All Levels Yoga Instructor + Sound BathHi, I’m Sarah! I’ve been married to my amazing husband for over 19 years and am a proud mom of three incredible kids. Family and friends mean everything to me.
I’m a certified Pilates instructor through AAAI, certified level 1 sound instructor, and a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. I earned my yoga certification through Tammy Zee’s yoga school in LaCrosse and will start working towards my 300 RYT certification in August.
Yoga has brought something so beautiful to my life, calm balance when life can feel overwhelming.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me outside—hiking, camping, or soaking up the water—because being active and enjoying life is my happy place. I love the ocean, nature, soccer, and photography.
